MET Claims Code

MET is focused on being the best in its field as regards claims processing, efficiently, friendliness and professionalism, conscious of the fact that each contact with an insured is part of our marketing strategy.

General Principles
At all stages, you can expect that MET will

  • Respond promptly, explain how they will handle your claim and tell you what you need to do.
  • Provide prompt information if they cannot deal with all or any part of your claim and explain why
  • Settle your claim promptly once they have agreed to do so and
  • Handle complaints fairly and promptly

How to notify us of a Claim
You could call our dedicated member of staff on hotline telephone number 240392, who will assign a claims officer to you.

  • Use the online claims notification at our website –www.metinsurance.com
  • Or contact your Insurance Broker or MET Sales Representatives

When you first make a claim
You can expect:

  • A response, on the phone to your claim and action within 24hrs.
  • An explanation of whether your type of claim is normally covered by the policy.
  • An explanation of what should happened and when

Processing & settling your claim
You can expect:

  • Explanations of why other people (for example surveyors) will be involved in your claim and what their role will be.
  • Request for estimates or repairs or original and replacement invoices
  • An Explanation of how your type of claim is usually settled for example
    i. by paying you
    ii. by paying someone else such as the garage repairing your vehicle
    iii. by repairing or replacing the lost or damaged item
  • Payments to be made to you within at most 5 working days of you agreeing to settlement by signing our Discharged Voucher.

Complaints Procedure

If not satisfied with our services your could complain in the first instance

  • To the Chief Operations Officer on 0244 364906 or 021 242750
  • If you are still not satisfied, you could then complain to the Head of Complaints & Settlement Bureau. National Insurance Commission Tel 238300, 238301
